Legal rights concerning road worthy certificates

I bought a car with a RWC, got it registered and I am having my mechanic look over it on Friday. Is there any legal wrong doing if my mechanic finds any problems with the car in concerns with the RWC or is it just a case of bad luck?

That would depend on the laws where you live; specifically what (if any) recourse the law provides. It greatly simplifies the situation if you have your mechanic look at the car before you buy it rather than after.

Yeah I know I should have but also have that bit of faith in mechanics to do their job to the safety standard. Lesson learnt if anything. I live in Queensland so not sure of the laws but will look into it. Thank you for your reply.
