My parents made a mistake and made a bank draft more than the real amount for my collage deposit

my parent made a mistake when making a bank draft for my collage fees. the actual amount I should pay was 3000 pounds but my dad messed up and drafted an extra 1000 pounds. how can I get that money back?

Every college I've dealt with handled their finances with honesty and integrity. Obviously the first step is to contact the college, explain the mistake and ask for a refund.
