Can I use a recovery disk that I made from gateway windows xp to dell windows xp?

hey I had dell dimension 300 windows xp and I lost my recovery disk so I have gateway laptop and i'd like to create my own recovery disk from gateway windows xp so that I can use it with my dell windows xp please can you tell me if that's gonna work or not??? I need help ?? thanks

It should work burned in a bootable CD or Bootable flash drive as long as their proprietary systems don't hang you up. An old Win98 Emergency Startup will work as long as the floppy in the last question isn't defective . If you put it on an inoperable Floppy drive, it will not.
