I am little confused

I have had this friend for 12+ years. He has had relationships with men and women over the 12 years we have been friends. IN the past 3 years it has only been men. After my divorce 3 years ago, we became best friends. We tell each other everything. About 2 years ago because our relationship was so close, I started falling in love with him. He is always sending me away on little week vacations, he will spend $100's for these trips. A year ago we both started relationships with other people. He still pays for my weekend vacations and is always buying me gifts and stuff. About 3 months ago we were on the phone I had been drinking I told him how I had felt about him. he told me "If there was ever a woman it would be me" he said he has always had some special feelings for me as well. I got engaged a few weeks later. I love my fiance more that anything. When I found the wedding dress I wanted my bestfriend bought it for me before I could get to the store to pay for it myself. It was $800. One of my friends said she thinks he is in love with me and just doesnt want to say anything since I am getting married. SHe says no man would spend that kind of money on just a friend. What do you think?

Humans are very complicated creatures. We can love without lust and we can lust without love. Your description makes me think your friend loves you but has a lust for other things. Your big challenge will be to make your fiance understand that. Your friend's big challenge will be to live with growing older when his sex drive will diminish and his need for love will increase. Unless your fiance is an unusually understanding person, you have a difficult choice to make.
