More girl advice please.

This is for a friend who needs advice.

He went out with this girl and now he wants to keep seeing her and possibly move foward with the realtionship. They went to this pretty cool event and he said she was all into what was going on in the event. Then they went to meet up with some friends at a bar downtown. They went to country dance bar now keep in mind my friend doesn't know how to 2 step to save his own life, but he danced with her anyways. At the end of the night she stated she was tired and wanted to go home they each drove seperate cars, the rest of the group went to another bar she said " you can go with them if you want I parked close" but he walked her to her car instead. After a few minutes he sent her a text asking if she made it home ok. She replied with "yes, I had a good time with you thanks". What would be a good next step for him to take. He has been single for a while now and is really looking to fill that void only a woman can fill. He was planning on sending her a text today saying " hey heard something that made think about you, hope your having a good day." and carry a conversation from there would that be a good move? I applogize for the lengthy question. Thanks.

that' would be a good conversation stater... but he better have heard something that made him think of her cause she could always ask that question "oh, really? what was it?" lol... just give him good tips and don't let him fall too hard for her until he knows for sure that they're going to be a couple..
