Need advice for a christmas present for a guy i've been seeing for 6 months

I'm seeing a guy since about June, although it's a long distance relationship at the moment. We have met up and as his birthday was very early in the relationship I just took him out for dinner and got him a good t-shirt. My birthday is after Christmas, so I can't gage what he is going to get me based on that! He hasn't dropped any hints as to what he's spending, so I'm pretty clueless, I don't want to go overboard and scare him haha! I'm doing a poster for his wall as I'm an artist, but I'd be doing that anyway, I want to buy him something good? He's not into sports really, loves reading, comics, gaming, movies (but he can download you know... so that's out) vintage stuff....Any ideas?
