Microsoft office standard 2007

i am using microsoft office 2007 standard on windows 7, 32-bits.
running 4GB ram on core i5.
every time I try to open an excel file over the network, the ribbon in the excel freezes for like 10 seconds.
any suggsetions?

Check for an Office update and if that doesn't help, contact Office support.
