It depends on how we made the agreement.

Were you clear about your boundaries? Did you account for possible travel delays when you created your expectation for the arrival time?

If I was clear about my boundaries, saying, "Hey, please be on time because I'd like to go to bed on time," or "If you're not going to arrive by 11pm please call me," then I may be frustrated and want to get care for my frustration and my losses.

On the other hand, if I was not explicit, clear and direct, then I take responsibility for that and let it be.

Also there's a big difference between 10 minutes late, 3 hours late, or 3 days late. How late is "late"?

What time did the person commit to arriving? What kept them from arriving on time?

Care for your own feelings in a way that also proceeds with compassion and curiosity.
