Can the media use my name and pictures in a unrelated case and put me down

a family member is involved in a case with him and the media put my name and pic and buisness all in th papers online and across the country can they do that with out mt concent

Generally, if what was written injured your reputation or ability to make a living you may be able to sue for libel as long as what they published was untrue. If they can prove what they published is the truth, you have no libel case.

There are some other questions like if you are a public figure or if you were photographed in a situation where you had a reasonable belief that it was private (like a bathroom for example). It's not a simple issue. If you believe there is a chance you have a case you should go over all of the evidence with a lawyer.
