Why dont I study and get good grades?

ok so I have test, lots of them but I never studied for any of them. I was absent from school and I ad to take test and I got a B- again I didnt study. spelling test no studying, definitions no studying I got an A-. I got another test spelling and definitions. im Pretty sure that I only missed 1 for spelling and got a 100% on my definitions. Before my dad would always make me study and like I would get good grades but not my best but either way I got an A or B. Im not sure why I dont study and I get like the best grades in my opinion. I've told my mom I didnt study and she would get mad but when I showed her my score she was surprised. I;ve come home with awards for P.E. an for uniform and im just waiting to get an award for school. Could there be an easy answer why keep getting good grades with out studying or is this just natural? FYI I am Mexican,Indian, and American. im not dark im light skin. it may be because of me being Indian (not native American). also im going to have a social studies test but one of my friends was studying with the program leader and I joined and I mostly guessed them all and got them all correct. also we had work sheets and I didnt bother to read the passage for social studies and of course I finished it in 2minutes. so is this natural or something else? im in a proficient class so im pretty smart but not so sure yet. what do you think? and also I have only gotten straight A's only once. and one time in third grade I had gotten a D and they gave me a notice and I told my dad, so then I gotta do a make up test and I raised it up to a B+.

If you pay close attention in class, you can make passing grades without studying if your goal in life is to just get by. For people who want to excel, studying is a necessity. If you expect to go to college, you will have to put some work into it when you get there. You can't learn by "osmosis" in college.
