What is the career growth in production support

I am a fresher who just got placed in an IT company.I am very much interested in development,but I got an opportunity in production support and took it since it was very rare to get development projects here.So,what are the chances of getting into development from production support after 2 years?

Also I want the opportunities open to me after 2 years working in production support.
