Some people have the habit of always looking at things from the negative point of view like, "If anything can possibly go wrong, it will happen to me." Thinking that way increases the likelihood that your fears will come true. If you believe getting a shot will hurt, you tense up your arm which tightens your muscle and it does hurt. If you're relaxed, the tissue is soft and the pain is minimal. Very often in life, what happens to you is what you BELIEVE is going to happen because your beliefs change your behavior in a way that increases the chance that it will happen. A person that BELIEVES they will fail, doesn't try for example so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The fact is, we don't know what will happen to us beforehand so the best path to a happy life is to BELIEVE only good things will come your way and your behavior will follow a path to make that come true. Work on looking at things in their most positive light and watch what happens to your fears.
