Should I go to a house party or a family members birthday celebration

Should I go to a house party or a family members birthday celebration?

Both are on the same night and I cant go to both as they are 100's of miles away from each other and it's my cousins birthday and she really wants me there however it's my best friends party and she really wants me at her house?

Just my opinion: There will be tons of other parties. Go spend time with your family. Families travel to gather far more infrequently than party people who'll go anywhere they think they'll have a good time. If your friend is a good friend, she'll support you in maintaining your family closeness. Besides, usually your family will still be your family long after your friends stop being your friends.

Very true. Sometimes when you get older it's hard to remember people's names that you hung out with but your family will still be there.

mmm ... I think you should stay true to ur family. ur friend should understand that u cant make it. there will be loads of friends bday bashes but u would never get the chance to see ur family age bit by bit every year. so family.
Okay thanks that is a good point I only get to see my family a few times a year and obviously my cousin is only going to have one bday a year and I see my friends every day and im sure there will be loads of time to party during the rest of my life. My family are not always going to be there.
