Is cross country or field hockey a better sport?

I'm a sophomore and I'm currently in cross country. I've been in XC for 2 weeks now and I've realized that I'm not a huge fan of the sport and it really drains my energy. I don't really like the fact that it's mostly just trying to overcome your limits and not a game where you interact with people. I have tons of homework from school so I don't love the idea of getting really tired by the time I get home. So, I was considering playing Field Hockey but I have some major concerns about it. I've read lots of things about it being dangerous; like concussions and breaking your bones and stuff. On the other hand, I've also heard lots of people say it's fun and it's not as dangerous. So I'm kind of confused what field hockey is really like. I really like playing sports like basketball and I don't have that much stamina; that's why I took up XC to train myself. In games, I totally forget how tired I am because I'm having fun but in the case of XC, I just really can't handle it. But I'm also afraid of getting injuries in field hockey because I'm totally new to it.

So basically my choices are:
a) stick with XC and just build up stamina even though I don't like it.
b) go take a risk with field hockey and try something new
c) not take any sport at all and be totally unfit.

What do you think I should do?

The only way you can live your life risk free is to do nothing. I would take option "a" for this year and spend the year looking at your choices for next year. XC may be boring but it will help you in any other sport you try later on.

People who make commitments and stick to them most often succeed. People that keep changing their minds, most often fail. The recipe for success in most any area is: Consider the options, make a choice and stick to it.
