"Love" is an expression of endearment used to describe strong feelings. You can love your wife, the people in your family or even a friend. Some people say they love their pets or even their favorite food like, "I love Pizza."

A Buddhist definition of love is the sincere wish that others be happy. I think that usually, when we talk about love, we're really talking about attachment... or, "I want you to be happy WITH ME and no one else."
