You are just 14, dear, are you sure you are gay now? Maybe you can wait till you are more mature and if you ARE sure, then just say it. They have to know it, no matter how you tell them. So just say it simply then. If you have a gf now, just tell them and see how they react. If they become extremely angry, then you can say you are just joking.

If you parents are homophobic and you think they will react strongly, I suggest NOT telling them until you are self-sufficient. I understand not wanting to live a lie, etc, but you have to make sure that you keep a roof over your head, and food on your plate. In the meantime, work hard at school so that you can get into a decent college and figure out how to turn your education into gainful employment. When you're on your own, then if they react badly, at least you can take care of yourself.

Yeah, the whole bi thing. Homophobes think people who are bi are just faking it, and they should just choose either a boy or a girl. Me and my bf are bi, his mom doesn't believe it, so he just says he's straight, but my mom doesn't really care.
If you do tell them, maybe do it when you're 16.
That's when I came out.

With a lesbian daughter and a gay son (50% of my children) I can truthfully say we knew before they told us. They may feel awkward and most people prefer to have straight children. Not for the benefit of the parents but because they know the difficulties that may lay ahead for their child. Even with the acceptance of a gay lifestyle it is still not a lifestyle of choice. You are currently in a safe, loving home make the most of it for as long as you can. Do your friends and relatives make a point of telling you their sexual preferences? I bet they don't! So ease up on yourself and hold back for now.
