Rob, this one's for you.

So i've used this site for years, under numerous names and profiles. I can talk like a douche, someone smart, a stoner, a total jerk, and other things. I've seen your answers on many posts, and I've always wondered where you got your knowledge. Do you surf the web? Or are you just a fountain of facts? I'm just curious. By the way, do you have any connection to a former member on this site, who went by the name, Oni Kami? or something like that. I was just wondering. Thanks. Please answer this. And I love the parrot picture.

Like you, I've read many of the things "Oni Kami" posted here but that's all I know.

Whenever I use information from the Internet, I put it up in quotes and include the link but I think there's a simpler answer to your question: I've been on this planet a lot longer than most all of you. I clearly remember events that took place during World War II. A kid once asked how I knew so much about ancient history and my son responded, "He was there!!" :-)

This brings up a point worth considering. If you are lucky enough to still have your grandparents, you have your own personal version of "Rob" that knows infinitely more about you than I ever could. Like my answers, they may not always tell you what you want to hear but they will always look out for your best interests. Don't let the older people in your family sit in the corner. Make them part of your life. Talk with them about your problems. Use their experience to help you get where you want to go.

Experience is one of our most valuable assets. You may find you already have your own "fountain of facts" but just aren't using it. So many of the young people's questions that appear on EHelp could be answered much better by someone within the family who has a complete understanding of the problem.
