The best way to overcome your fear is to put yourself out there and do it anyways, even if it scares you. This is a must for anyone who wants to be in theater or sing in front of people. The only way to overcome stage fright is to get up on that stage, and do it anyways.

I agree with curiouswonder. The more you think about any fear, the worse it becomes. Just do it!

what is the type of fear if ur fear is from the stage itself and being on or from the feel that all r looking at u or just the fact u feel u'll do wrong!!!
u've to focus on the subject (tragedy ,song, explanation,...)till u completely make a clear vision in ur mind so u start to trust urself,,,
then start step by step to talk in front of others at any site whomever they are and at any situation even that u did wrong till u overcome the fear of making mistake and hearing stuff,,,also lose the fear of new persons and different ages
then u start to go onto dealing with the fear of stage by the going up it and do ur work any way with butting urself in trouble to form the brave acts

this step let u continue in the whole life with this changed act but if u didn't u'll by time regain the same problem and lose the whole way u tried to b better and brave, also sometimes this can result on the develop of more problem if a wrong done happen,,

only it works if the person fear to b in front of many people than the facing and going on stage is the fastest way to get rid of,,,

i had it to. the best way to get rid of it is to face it. or little by little start talking. it sometimes helps if u do it with friends...or maybe in a group.

At my first dance performance I wasn't nervous at all- until we were about to start. But as soon as we got in the middle of the floor and the music started, my fake smile became real. Maybe it helped me a little that the costumes were my favorite color. :) Also they were sparkly (and I LOVE sparkles!) So maybe that helped. Maybe if you wore your favorite color or one of your favorite outfits, it would help you feel better. I'm not sure what it was, but something that day told me to stop my worrying and just get out there and dance!
