Multiple nails grow on big toe?

On the last days of my Paronychia infection, the doctors remoced the nail again and the toe is basically healthy now. But they said 3 nails were growing. They said it very rare. Why did this happen? Will it happen again? Thanks as I know this is a difficult question.

Glad your toe is getting back to normal. Most likely the infection has altered the cells that produce the nail. When our body parts undergo a lot of trauma as your toe has, strange things can happen. I would guess it will return to normal over time but toenails often have a mind of their own. :-)
