I've been on my period for 2 and a half months!

Okay, so I'm 15 and Ive been on my period for 2 and a half months. I never start at the same time, and sometimes I won't start for a month or 2, and then it will be so heavy and painful that I can't even go to school. Well, all of a sudden it just won't stop. Some days it's really light, and then others its just not. I had to stay home from school today because of it. What should I do? I've talked to my mom about birth control and she really doesn't want me on it. I guess she might think that if I do then I'll think it's okay to have sex or something. And I've tried telling her that wouldn't be the case, but whatever. Also, I've asked to go to the doctor, and she said no because I don't have any insurance. She said a month ago that if I was still on it then she would take me. And now a month and a half went by and she still won't. So....yeah. Advice?

No doctor would tell you what to do without an examination. See your doctor and follow whatever advice they give you.

Go to the health department It is free. I am on birth control for reasons like that
too. You should explain to her that it could be medically necessary... if you are bleeding like that it is a SERIOUS MEDICAL PROBLEM and should be treated. no matter whether you have insurance or not. It may seem to her that you would think its ok to have sex just because you are on birth control but if its a necessity
for you to be on it she should see that you need it to be well. Have the doctor talk to her, have them explain it. Good luck ......
