I really need help, please!

Hi everyone :)
I have a real problem. I have a singing exam on the 1st of March and a music festival/singing competition on the 3rd of March. Not only am I nervous and struggling to learn the words of my 8 songs I have just precticed all of the over and over for 2 hours and I'm losing my voice! Is this a temporary thing? If it is not what can I do to reduce it as much as possible? It is for too late to pull out of both and I cannot get back my £76.90 back for entering the exam and the festival/competition.
Please help me if you can and thank you in advance.
:) Bless you all.

If you are losing your voice after a lot of practicing, I would assume that is normal. I would drink water and rest. While resting you can try to memorise your songs. Then when you feel better, you should be able to sing again! The losing voice usually lasts a few hours or so. If it doesn't go away, you might want to go to the doctor for some more ideas. Hope this helped! (^_^)

I have some experience singing and would add a couple of things to KC13's excellent answer. I wouldn't practice singing any more until the exam. The risk of straining your voice again will be greater after this episode. Just work on reciting the words to learn them.

My experience has been that the harder you try to do a good job singing, the worse the performance. Forget about competing and make it your objective to go out there and have fun doing what you love to do. Most often the person that does the best job entertaining is the one that's having the most fun doing it. Fun is contagious. Make the audience catch it and you will do a great job.

Try drinking Linden tea, it restores your throat when you have a sore one. Good luck! Which songs are you singing?
