How can I make saplings from a parent tree which gives good tasty fruits to preserve the same taste?

This plant I have in mind gives fruits with tasty outer side over a tough seed. All the seeds germinate when sowed and they take 3 to 4 years to bear fruit and the taste is quite different from the parent tree. Can I cut the tips of the branches and grow them in some rooting solution available in the market?
