If I understand the question, you can't use a preamplifier alone to drive the speakers. It depends on what signal level the amplifier is expecting.
A preamplifier takes a very low-level audio signal like an un-powered microphone or an old phonograph pickup and raises the signal to an acceptable level for the amplifier. Most audio equipment today use a line level input to make various kinds of equipment compatible. If your mike has phantom power or produces a line level output and you plug it into a line level input in the amp, that should work. Otherwise an un-powered mike will likely require a boost.
If you're buying new equipment, the safest bet is to make sure everything meets the line level standard in and out.

Oh thank you very much Rob, may I ask you another question?
I am acutally wondering, do you know of any software that will allow me to create a logo, like if I could download this software for free, I can seem to find anything that does not involve some form of payment :)
It may take a little studying but Google Sketchup is free and you can do some really neat things with it.

Thank you so much, starting a wedding singer business is harder than I originally thought :) Really thank you Rob.
