Does anyone know what is wrong with my father?

My father is really really nice, then He can be very mean.. It seems like he has mutiple personalities. He shows NO emotion at ALL. I dont think he has EVER hugged me. His mom and dad treated him very badley when he was a child and in his teenage years. His mom always showed favortism tword her other son. Here are my father's Charateristics

VERY CONTROLLING
Can be really nice, then be very mean in a split second
He is very NICE to strangers
Treats his family very badley
Thinks he can buy people back with gifts
Very Stobborn
Self-Centered
Thinks my money is his money(controlling)

He wants a relationship with me again but he can't appologize to me because he says he didnt do anything wrong..
I said to myself he needs to go to counsuling before I have a relationship with him again..

I'm no psychologist, but clearly, he's not well. You really don't have to worry about his diagnosis, or his treatment. All you do have to know is where your boundaries are, and it sounds like you've done a good job at that when you say "he needs to go to counsuling before I have a relationship with him again" and that you need to hear him acknowledge how he's behaved negatively towards you. As difficult as it may be, stick to that and don't feel bad about it. It's ok to stay away. You don't owe him anything, not even an explanation (he's demonstrated that he can't hear you now anyway). You have every right to protect your emotions and work to rebuild a healthy life for yourself.

You stated, "He had no emotions." However, if he get's happy or mad. These are emotions.

A person with no emotions can not get mad or happy which is a type of Schizophrenia. I forfot what type. They are 3 different kinds. One is the hearing of voices and seeing things that are no there, next is to remain in strange positions long hours, and last is no emotions. You win million and do not care, your mother dies, do not care, or whatever.

Bi polar is two personaliy disorder. His mood chances for no reason daily. He gets happy than mad or whatever.

You need to find out the problem like study. What goes on in his life or make him mean? Is he poor, his job is bad, or just he have pain? Think about this.

We can not go around acusing people of having mental illness until we look at their life. Is his lfe affecting him some how. If not maybe he could be bi polar or maybe he could be AdHd. Which shares like symptoms.

Adhd is tiggered. "0" tollence to stress, can not focus (racing thoughts), but can muti-task well, and sometimes can not remember to keep their task in order. Talk fast and alot. Having highs and lows.

I advice to reseach his life first and than undstand the mental disorders and see if it's his life or if he fits one disorder. Than get him the proper help.

I read ur other questions. Congrats on school. I agree u don't owe ur dad any explanation. Stay away until he proves to you that he's sane enough to be in ur life. You don't have to diagnose or help him because it's not safe for you.
