How do I cancel emails from herman cain? He sends me frequent emails.

How do I cancel emails from Herman Cain. He sends me frequent emails about his campaign and other stuff. I clicked on the "unsubscribe" tab, but it says my email address is not recognized. I clicked on the "contact us" tab many, many times at his website and asked to be removed.

Isn't it illegal for him to send this junk to me forever? Here is a sample of the bottom of the page showing the links.

NOTE, IT HAS BEEN WEEKS THAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CANCEL THIS. I believe the Campaign does this intentionally. Today, December 14, 2011, I received 2 emails from them.

It is illegal to send a recipient unwanted email. However, depending on their email marketing management system it could take a number of days for your unsub to finalize and in that time you might continue to get messages. If it's been more than a week since you unsubbed, set your email filter to put their messages in the trash or mark as junk, call them or report their emails as abuse.

If you need info for how to set a 9-9-9 filter, comment behind this.:-)

Rob, great answer. Thank you!! Actually I have tried for over a month to get this cancelled. SkyDancer recommended "call them." That's the problem. You cannot call, email, mail, or click on their "contact us" link on the website. They are totally unresponsive. I think the only way they will let people off the list is to file a complaint with a government agency or if the media gives them bad publicity. I hate to do either because I have actually been a supporter of Cain for 20 years.
That sounds like another case of automation gone wild. At this point I suspect being accused of not maintaining his web site is the very least of Mr. Cain's problems. What fascinates me about that story is that Gingrich admits doing what Cain denied yet Gingrich moved to the top in the polls when Cain dropped out. That doesn't make a bit of sense to me.

Did the filter work?

Yeah, these days it's just hard to find a politician with Clinton's high moral character (says the Liberal). Hahaha...

If the filter doesn't work and you don't wanna make a stink, you can set your email program to automatically put their emails in the trash so you don't have to be bothered.
