Is there a quick way to get jobs today

Have been sending thousands of resumes online without any success. All universities in USA discriminate against foreign talent because politicians and state leaders have insisted on giving priority to Americans regardless of education or experience credentials. There are rules to make it difficult for these institutions to hire foreign talent. How can you overcome this discrimination

No sovereign government anywhere in the world is obligated to hire foreigners. They can give priorities to anybody they want. What you are dealing with is not discrimination, it's reality.

Civilizations in the past that have compromised meritocracy based on any other arbitrary discrimination whether race, color, gender, class, majority or NATIONALITY have in the long run imploded with serious consequences. Greece the birth place of modern democracy (majority representation) is today bankrupt.

America and most of its institution vouch that they do not discriminate against NATIONALITY. In practice it is not true. The discrimination is made legitimate by federal and state rules.

Sovereignty should not blind oneself to the need to maintain quality as the long run consequences can only negative. Poor quality begets poorer quality. Ask any successful businessman?

America is different than most other countries in that the vast majority of us descend from immigrants. "Nationality" in America often means where you, your parents or ancestors came from. That is the discrimination our laws prohibit. A person of Arab descent gets treated the same as a person of European descent for example. There is nothing in our system that obligates us to provide jobs for the world.

I don't have to ask a successful businessman, I AM a successful businessman and I'm telling you, your self serving ideas of how it should work are unrealistic.

I'm a successful business owner as well.

In my opinion, many of our immigration laws are discriminatory and biased based on the applicant's country of origin. I'm from an immigrant family and I know many immigrants from other countries, so I've unfortunately seen this directly. We do have very active racism in practice here. As a person of color, I see it and feel it daily. My class status does not protect me from that.

The phrasing of your question, however, ignores the reality of a very severe financial crisis in the USA. Here, no university or employer "owes" anyone anything, citizen or not. You don't seem to understand that there are millions of citizens AND immigrants who are already here who send out tons of resumes and despite their best efforts are still unemployed. It's very tough here for a great many people. Have you no compassion for them? Can you only think of what you want and think you deserve? How can we keep inviting people to dinner when se can't feed the people already sitting at the table? It's very complex.

I disagree with the sense of entitlement and gross oversimplification I sense in your question. I hear in your question an assumption that ALL Americans are stupid, undereducated, and lacking in talent. That is an incorrect assumption, I take offense to that. I work in a creative environment where I am literally surrounded by incredibly talented Americans of many nationalities and foreign nationals that I hired.

Discrimination is based on making incorrect assumptions about an entire group of people, and treating and speaking of an individual based on your beliefs about EVERYONE in their group and not the character of the individual presented before you.

You can overcome discrimination by starting with yourself.

... and there's no quick fix for economic crisis, unemployment, or racism. Just keep getting up everyday and trying your best. Review your resume to make sure you're presenting yourself the in best way possible (unlike how you presented yourself here). Keep looking for opportunities. Drop the attitude. That doesn't mean you shouldn't feel upset about the situation, but that attitude of entitlement isn't going to serve you well.

Yes I hear you about difficulties even Americans are facing. With no food on the table how can anyone think beyond that table. That is precisely what I am addressing here.

It is interesting that you would think that a person who feels he is discriminated is in fact discriminating against other Americans as stupid etc. I think there are brilliant and hard working people in America. I just like to add that there are also brilliant people from elsewhere. All I am asking is a level playing field based on principles of meritocracy.

It is also for the same reason that many Americans today also need help that the system needs to be more seriously based on meritocracy rather than based on any other form of discriminatory compromises including Nationality. Systematic discrimination of not even considering a certain category may solve short run problems of providing jobs but will have longer term consequences. If the matching is based on competencies and nothing else, then in the long run the pie should become bigger and everybody will be better off.

Ever since 9/11 America has been inward looking and in the name of national security discriminatory against the rest of the world. That was 10 years ago and any wonder where America is today. Quality has substantially left or have been systematically kept out.

Many puritan America's founders left England because of religious discrimination and created a declaration and an initial constitution that was non-discriminatory, even allowing people of color and women to in time get some degree of equal rights. They may have been personally discriminatory, but what they drafted and subsequently fought for is commendable. America was not for only Americans but to champion a world founded on pragmatism, enterprise and hard work and not on any form of bigotry, royal or otherwise. It is a little wonder that it has become one of the greatest nation in the world in such a short time.

If anything, I hope the crisis teaches us to be more humble, focus on the big picture and remove all types of filters that compromises meritocracy.

Nation states were created to end endless religious wars, only to create another form of discrimination called citizenship. Add to that the need to die for one's nation, and you get a perfect condition for nationalistic bigotry and therefore 'entitlement' to be first in line regardless of quality. If that is not entitlement than I don't know what is.

Just because you came here earlier should not give you an 'entitlement'. Any entitlement not based on meritocracy is corruption and nepotism.

How can I question against any form of entitlement, and then ask for it. All I have asked is to be judged based on meritocracy that is not tainted by any form of discrimination or bigotry.

In closing I would like to thank both of you for the most valuable comments and it shows that you care about such issues. May be we should part with agreeing to disagree with each other. I may seem unrealistically seeking a world where all humanity is one human race, and can only hope that we can achieved that some day in this lifetime.

May be 'my world is not this world'
