What are the advantages and disadvantages of the wiki server and news sever (running NNTP aka network news transfer protocol) please discuss in detail. Thanks so much.

A Wiki server can communicate with the client via HTTP without any special software or browser add-ons where a NTP server requires special software client side and depends on the design of that software to perform specific collaborative tasks. In other words, Wiki makes the collaboration available to anyone with a typical web connection where NTP requires the participants have common client.
