I've done this several times and have had great success with Rustoleum spray paint. The fumes get strong, so definitely do it outside if you can. Wear a face mask because when you inhale, the paint goes up your nose. I also recommend getting one of the comfort spray can grip things so you don't kill your finger:

Oh, and I used rubbing alcohol to seriously wipe down the surfaces before priming to make so there was no oil or grit on it.
