Airsoft questions?

I just recently bought an airsoft pistol. I am also concerned about keeping it in tip top manner.

When I bought it, I was told that I should keep some gas in it when I put it away, so i'll do that. But is it bad to dry fire an air soft gun? Meaning, that i'd pull the trigger, but i'm not really shooting anything.

And if it's bad to do this with/without any gas, or the magazine loaded in it. If possible, can you guys recommend me some websites that talk about the health of an airsoft gun? Thanks! (:

I've learned some rules through keeping one. Never dry fire it obviously. It wastes gas, don't keep the mag in if i'm going to inspect or play with the gun. Keep the safety on at all times. Don't point it at someone. Keep your finger off the trigger. I had a couple accidents myself with the gun.
