"Themes and Theses"

Can someone please describe two major themes of Christianity you view as surviving unchanged from the original teachings of Jesus and the early church. Also, please describe how you think you would have responded to Luther’s 95 Theses if you were either Pope Leo X or a monk or nun. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give, thanks!

Anyone have any opinions on this matter, please chime in.

It would probably take a big chunk of your lifetime to read all of the divisions and sub divisions of Christianity enough to make a comparison between their belief and the original teachings. I've never heard of a Christian belief that doesn't teach the concepts of sin and forgiveness but don't take that as a final answer.

If I had been Leo X back in the reformation period, I would have responded to Luther with a high-five because even that far back, the church was evolving into a bureaucracy that didn't have much in common with it's humble beginnings. When you look at the huge buildings today outfitted with all of the ornate symbols and decorations, it's difficult (at least for me) to find the original ideas buried so deeply in all the man-made additions.

Wow thanks so much. I personally believe that nothing can be proven to have survived the "original teachings of Jesus" - Paul came almost a century later and didn't know most of his teaching and there is no real way of knowing which messanica leader he was since there were so many and the cult following was revived by Paul and only after Paul the gospels were written which include bits and pieces borrowed form multiple ancient religions.
tru....but wat paul heard nd rote was directly from Jesus
