Need help with a couple math problems.

I pretty much get it, but once I start working with negatives I get a bit confused. Can someone show me how to do these problems please?

1) 10-3(x-4)
2) - 7(a-b) + 3(2a+3b)

1)
10-3(x-4)=0
10-3x+12=0 by distribution
10+12=-3x
22=-3x
x=-22/3

2)
-7(a-b) + 3(2a+3b)
-7a+7b + 6a + 9b by distribution
-a + 16b
