How to sell my screenplay?

I am working on a screenplay. I figured since movies now a days are pretty much lame i'd like to try to write a screenplay my self.

So let's say I am done with my screenplay. THEN WHAT? How can I sell it? Or get it produced? How much can I sell it for?

AND let's say in some crazy world I manage to sell it. Can I be in the film with a minor roll or come out as an extra? ITS MY DAMN SCREENPLAY. !

Your next step be to document that you created it. Read Copyright basics here:

Remember that copyright laws not only protect you, they protect others too so make sure that what you've written is 100% your product.

Next, contact a literary agent. Do a google search for "literary agent screenplay." There's a long list of links, some with information on the best ways to approach an agent and ways to avoid the scam artists; people who want you to pay but have no ability to get your work published.

Who performs in the production will be up to the producer. I wouldn't advise making that an issue. They may see you as a writer who will make controlling demands on them. Get a successful production or two under your belt before starting your acting career.
