Favorite free video editing software for a Mac?

Someone asked me to recommend free video editing software for a Mac, but I'm only familiar with the pricey professional software. I'm sifting through reviews, but wondered if anyone with personal experience could make a recommendation.

Any favs?

The one that comes with the mac: iMovie. It's quite user friendly and the newest version can do some pretty cool stuff.

I believe, that rockband may be a program already included into a Mac when you buy it. However, this is speaking from two years back when I was in 8th grade and doing a computer class. When it comes to video editing for me, I use adobe after effects CS4. It is a little pricey, but it is compatible with both Mac and PC I believe. It requires a lot of computer memory/ram though. I have it as a cracked version though. Good luck (:
