um. why ask a question about Africans under animal rights???
There is a custom among some tribes in Sub Saharan Africa called "dry sex" where the female packs her vagina with all kinds of things, including sometimes, soil. The practice has contributed to the epidemic of AIDS because the abrasion from sexual contact allows for transfer of the HIV virus into the bloodstream. It is my understanding that's only done to adults however, not children.

There are a number of cultures world wide that practice forms of genital mutilation on children intended to prevent sex before marriage. There is a global effort underway to educate against the practice.

I've never heard of anything like what you describe but there are a lot of people in the world, some with very unusual customs. It wouldn't be surprising if someone tried that.

I think your friend is confusing many things.

And, keep in mind that when you talk about "Africans" you're really talking about thousands of different ethnic groups spread across 54 nations and over 30 million square kilometers of land. THERE'S A LOT OF VARIATION. Don't "black wash" the entire continent and think of it as a unit. It doesn't work that way. You need to be specific... otherwise, it's too easy to get comfortable with stereotypes and ignorant assumptions.

Gosh. Just try to think about it. Maybe it'll sink in, maybe it won't.........
I think she was trying to politely explain why the wording of your question could be considered offensive to millions of Africans.
You idiot why is this in animal rights
