Is there such a thing as an unselfish deed?

I know maybe this may not be something so easy to answer, but I was thinking about it and though doing something kind for someone; not expecting anything in return seems selfless, don't we do it because it makes us feel good. Cause WE benefit from it too? Or is the reason most people find in a selfless deed something different?

I also thought that maybe it is partly that reason, but great because the things we do all affect someone else, maybe the great thing about love is that it isn't unconditional, and we all feel each other.

I also thought that maybe we don't do the things we do to have that feeling, but because we know its right.

Just been thinkin' about it the last couple hours. Tell me what you think about it.

I agree that there is always some motive behind what we do. I would consider an act selfless when the benefit of the recipient far outweighs the benefit of the donor. For example, buying a house for a homeless family would surely make you feel good but the imbalance of the benefit is great enough that it would qualify as a selfless act.

Just my opinion. I'm no expert on selflessness.
