They have to understand why they're losing the business and devise a plan to overcome the problem. Applying solutions that may not be directed at the cause will only make it worse.

When you come up with that plan, you can check to see if there's a chapter of SCORE nearby. If so, call them up to see if you and get someone to review your plan with you and give you advice. You could probably even get help coming up with that plan.
