When you punch holes in your body, it bleeds. When you stretch it far enough to tear the tissue, it also bleeds. When a punctured or torn areas begin to heal, it form scabs. If the scabs are torn off before it has completely healed, it will bleed some more. If bacteria gets into the open wound before it heals, it becomes infected.

Anytime you have an open wound on your body, you must keep it clean and sterile to avoid infection and you should sterilize anything that comes in contact with it. Isopropyl alcohol will do that.

They obviously bleed but wait until the scabs have healed and then put them back in so it doesnt get infected. You should probably get some jojoba oil and rub your ear lobe with it because it helps to thicken the skin and prevent it from tearing :) also once you have started to stretch it wash it out with salt water so you dont get infected.
