I just ate a bunch of Wash. cherries and got horrible foot/toe cramps. Is there a relationship?

Too many cherries might give you the belly ache but cramps in your feet are unlikely. Cramps sounds more like a hydration or electrolyte imbalance. If you've been out in the heat that makes it even more likely. Check this out:

My husband and myself have eaten fresh cherries 3 or 4 times this season and each time we ate them we both got terrible toe and foot cramps, so there is a relationship between eating cherries and cramps in the toes and foot. I'm just not sure what it is. We've both gotten them every single time we ate the cherries.

The same thing has happened to me but I have yet to get an answer as to why.
If anyone has an answer I sure would like to know.

I wake up in the night with nasty calf cramps after eating cherries. I just figured this out and won't eat them anymore, 'cause it is painful. Thanks, Rob, for telling us all we don't know anything : )
