How to get help for former bunion surgery pain

my wife has had bunion surgery on both big toes some years ago and now has bad pain on the bottom of both feet when she walks. No pain when she is not walking or laying down. Pain is in the toe joints of all toes when she walks only.

Can you go back to the doctor who did the surgery to have them looked at? That would be my first guess.
