What is your opinion on the chances of me getting involved in gang activity?.read the details:P

Okay, so I'm about to go to a high school which is on the top-whatever list for the most gang problems...do you think I'll have a problem with this in the next four years?(I'm a Christian if that interferes with your answer or thought on this)

i agree. you do have to be careful. people could feel judged or attacked whether that's your intent or not... and they could try to hurt you to reclaim their esteem. it's irrational, but it's common. for instance, i'm vegetarian and meat-eaters often get super defensive around me at restaurants even though I say absolutely nothing about their food choices, nor do I give them dirty glances or direct towards them any disrespectful behavior. people often feel automatically judged by someone who choses to be different from them... I think they may feel some sort of rejection and lash out... just watch out for that.
I am not asking if I would get bullied for being a Christian..I'm asking what my chances are of being involved with gang activity at this high school which is on one of the top-whatever lists for the most gang activity-

if you're asking if you'll be a target... who knows... just keep your wits about you.

one thing though... and this applies to people who ascribe to any religious group... there are things that people do that have the effect of making them much less liked... which could make them an easier target for any bully. for religious folks, proselytising is like wrapping yourself in metal and standing under a tree in a puddle of water in an electrical storm... anyone who tries to force their religion on others, or knows no other topic to converse about, or uses religion to make themselves seem "better" or "superior" is pretty much asking to be a target... especially in this age group.

i say this as a dedicated practitioner of a religion. I keep my religion to myself and even people who try to convert me or talk about their religions like a broken record make ME... well... practice patience a little harder than i'd like sometimes. sometimes, when people talk about their religions so overtly without regard to whether the other person wants to hear it, they cross the line into being severely disrespectful and aggressive.

i'm not trying to offend you... i'm just saying be mindful of that, particularly in that environment and in that age group. when you talk about religion, just make sure your listener wants to hear it and doesn't feel held hostage in a way that could help them feel justified in reacting to you unkindly.

so when you share this part of yourself, make sure you're in safe, supportive, like-minded company.

Alright, well that kind of answers my question...but I wasn't asking if I would get involved 'because' I'm a Christian- When I mentioned that I am a Christian, I only said that because some people take that in consideration because of behavioral reasons...as opposed to a non-Christian in which could be thought of as mis-behaved, has problems or something like that..(and I'm not saying Christians are perfect)...But so I am asking,"What are the 'general' chances of me being involved in gang activity in this particular high school?"
