i was diicnosed with 2nd stage hepatitis c from a blood trancfusion in 1976 to save my life . now they tell me that I have assistis in my chest and stomache .does that men my liver is shutting down? im 49 what is my chance of a cure .?

I cannot find a definition for "assistis" or "assisis" in a medical dictionary.

Many people carry the hep C virus with little or no effects. If you have scarring of the liver tissue (cirrhosis) there is no way to correct that. Scarring in your liver makes it difficult for your liver to function. A small percentage of people with hep C may develop liver cancer and in advanced stages, liver failure.

The symptoms of a malfunctioning liver are: Your skin and eyes take on a yellowish orange color and your feces turns white. A liver that is shutting down causes bloating.

Your chance for a cure depends on what condition your liver is in now. You should contact whomever told you the above and ask them what that means, what are your chances for a cure and what you should do to limit the risks of it getting worse.
