How do I prove residency in another state?

If you have lived in one state and want to establish yourself as aresident of another state, how can this be done? Is changing your mailing address and getting a new ID through DMV enough?

Most states require you to buy license tags for any vehicle you own and will be operating in that state after a minimum period of time or when you become gainfully employed. You should also register to vote in your new home area to avoid any minimum residency conflicts.
