Highschool for the first time, any advice?

I am going to high school next year and two of my closest friends are leaving and I might not get into the high school I applyed for. Anyways any tips for starting high school for the first time in your life? Also would you recommend I get a locker?

I agree with Rob there is nothing worse than lying about yourself and getting found out :( I know first hand my cousin did that and got lots of grief for it. Yes I would recommend a locker for you xx good luck.

Embrace this opportunity to get somewhat of a fresh start and learn new things about the world and yourself. And yes to the locker so you don't have to haul your things around all day.

I was nervous about high school when I first started. I didnt have many of my friends in my classes but I made tons of new ones. And in high school you get more time to get to your classes( I dont know about your school but I get 6 minutes to get to class) you will get more hw in high school than in middle school so you should try to schedule study time. And with the lockers, I didnt get one and I found that it saved a lot more time and I didnt have to pay for it. I had a bag that had enough room for everything for my things. Cleaning your bag out often would make you more organized. Good luck in high school and I hope you have a great time!!!

As manatees45507 said, I was nervous when school started. I didn't expect anything. I didn't think it'd be anything big. But a lot of things happened in a school year. Two girlfriends. Social workers. Failing grades. GRADES. Stay on task with it. I slacked off this one day and it became a habit. Now i'm missing credits and missing a requirement to graduate from high school. I will have to make it up in the next 3 years. Good luck. And have fun :]

whats up guy im also going to high school this year so be your self and explore.Choose a freind that makes feel proud unlike the freind ihad his name was aditya dayannand goddddddd he is such a loser,anyway back to high school ,when you site in your class start by saying hello,whats your name ,which school did your come form,you know the basic stuff ,focus on your grades other then hot guys or chicks they mite look great but mostly their stupid hey,I said mostly.If you find things hard to understand during class take out a pge and start writing what the teacher is teaching.I have joke to tell, yo mama is so poor she could not afford to pay attention,dont get angry its a joke and remember study hard an if you are into computers dont take a computer subject its a waste of time from your freind teveshan nick name is tess,tev boy, tv nation.Im into music and computers and triying to become a doctor,why ilove medical science and things about the body.try to be freinds with the teachers and stay out of fights

Listen shaza, just relax. HS is a breeze, it was the easiest and most fun time of my life (aside from parts of college).
You can save yourself a ton of time if you just do your homework - I never spent a single nanosecond studying because just doing my homework solidified all of the key concepts well enough so that I understood them and passed all my exams with flying colors. Using this method I graduated with a 4.6/4.0 (AP classes), got into an Ivy League school and went on to become an engineer at a top international firm with a salary that would make most actors jealous.
And with all the time I saved by just doing my homework and never having to study to get all A's, I made a crapload of friends, which is very easy in highschool because everyone else is in the exact same position as you. Just be confident and find common interests to talk about and you'll be fine.
And yes, you should probably get a locker. Where else are you going to put your lunch where the bullies can't get to it?
