Trick question.

Since 1 yard is 3 times the length of a foot, 1 cubic yard is 3 times the volume of a cubic foot. Is this reasoning valid? Why or why not?
I really sucked at math and really need help with this question, any help at all I would be very grateful :)

One cubic yard is 27 times the volume of one cubic foot. 3ft X 3ft X 3ft or 3^3.

A cubic yard is three 1-foot cubes wide, three 1-foot cubes deep, and three 1-foot cubes tall. That's why it's 3ft X 3ft X 3ft=27 cubic ft. You can fit twenty-seven 1-foot cubes inside 1 cubic yard, so one cubic yard is 27 times the volume of one cubic foot.
