CAN I sue my dad? REALATED to Questions MOM part 1 and DAD part 1!

My dad has recieved money for child support for the past 18 years. (im 19) He used the money every month to put it on thje morgage for his house. He didnt spend a alot of money on me. My aunt bought me cloths. I didnt eat: I was underweight. He got a check for 480 dollers every month for my for 18 years. I bought my own car (which we share both of our names on the title). My mom has proof of how much she gave him for child support? Need a lawyer here please or anyone that will help!
Can I sue him? I was under age 18 at the time and I have no prof he neglected me. Please HELP!!! STATE Of ILLINOIS

You can file a suit against anybody and some lawyers would be willing to take your money just to try. The question is whether you have a chance of winning it.

The money your mom paid your dad was never your money. It was paid to him for your support. The issue is whether you benefited from the money. If he paid it on the mortgage and you lived in the house, you did. He couldn't have paid for the house, maintenance, electric, water, telephone and food for anywhere close to $450 a month.

What would be his defense against the suit? In addition to saying that the money was clearly used to your benefit, I suspect he would argue that you are angry over the previous issue involving the car title and you're using the legal system to get even. In my view, your time and money would be better spent on your future than trying to collect for what you feel you deserved from the past.

Exactly what I was going to say...
Yes, take his greedy ass to court & tell the judge. You may not get all of it back, he might prove that he spent the money on a house to make sure you had a place to live.
