WMP says it can't open an avi-file . how come?

i record a video and store it as an avi - file using camstudio . then try to play it but that does not work . can't open the file using WMP , quick time etc.

Make sure you have the latest version and have installed the lossless codec.

WMP doesn't have the ability to play that type of file. You can do as Rob says. I, however, use a program called VLC. From my use of it, it can play any video type including avi. Here's a link in case you want to check it out.
