Is putting a bone in a sock inside a chimney wall an old wives tale

i pulled an old fireplace out in my house and found a bone inside a sock buried in the wall what does this mean as there is no more is this a spell of some sort maybe

It could be the remains of a stocking Santa was supposed to deliver the Christmas I left him that bottle of eggnog. R.I.P Tabby. :-)

Wow. I've never heard of that. I wouldn't worry about it. If you don't feel cursed, then you aren't (don't analyze that one... just roll with it).
