I've always wondered.

Science vs Religion.
What is it with those two topics?

Religion is about what we believe, science is about what we know. They both have important roles in human life. Religion gives it's believers a sense of unity and purpose. It anchors a great portion of our traditions. Science helps us understand the world we live in regardless of of how we believe it was created or what/who we think is in control of it and our destiny.

One of the things I appreciate most about modern Tibetan Buddhism is that it embraces both fully. The Dalai Lama says that if science disproves any Tibetan Buddhist belief, the scientific interpretation should be accepted.
I sometimes wonder the same thing. I believe a lot of things that my science text book tells me, but my mom and dad also taught me that there is a more powerful and more knowledgeable book. (The bible). Im stuck in the middle of the two of them.

One of them is based on a belief in the possibility of a number of parallel states of existence and the other is religion.
