When you're tired you go to sleep. Exercise works for me.

Wearing yourself out is a good idea.

When I was having trouble sleeping, I started a bedtime routine. I'd shut off the laptop, shower, drink tea, light incense, put myself in bed... something like that. The point is, I set up a relaxing routine, and trained my body to recognize that I was about to put it to sleep and it should gear down for that.

I know nothing about Ayurveda, but I once read in a book about it that our bodies ramp up at 10pm to start cellular repair, etc. and that people who have trouble sleeping should be sure their asleep so this surge in activity doesn't keep them awake. I don't know if it's true, but I have noticed that if I'm up past 10:30 pm, then I'm up until at least 2am.

well I think u should look at your diet and your stress level. How much caffiene to you consume each day? Do you have alot of stress in your life?

Sometimes cutting out caffiene and starting stress reduction activities can really help: excercise, drinking plenty of water, stretching, yoga, cardiovascular excercise, and resting your mind with meditation before you try to go to sleep (wind down) .

Some people say not having anything in your bedroom but things you associate with sleep helps as well.

Oh, yeah. Good points. I forgot those. I only drink decaf teas after 4pm, and the bedroom is a restful place (no tv, laptop, etc.).
well maby it's because your doing too much in the day and that your are getting more tired in the day then you are at night that is not bad but also not a very good thing either maby you need to not wear your self out in the day too much and try to take breaks here and there
