Without question, every time in my life that I've done something I felt uncomfortable doing, I later regretted it. I've learned that, when the time is right, you always feel good about what you're about to do. Trust you're instincts and don't cave in to pressure. A guy that really cares about you will be willing to wait. Otherwise he's just cares for himself.
